OVERSIZED: Go big or Go home!

Good Morning good people!

Last week this time I was waking up in the Bronx headed to The VIEW! Time goes by so fast man!
Round here, I'm kinda known for all things big! Big Hair, Big Earrings, Big Style you get my drift. I wanted some big pants, and since I'm working on my craft, I made some! My style is forever changing, and I'm really feeling all things vintage fashion!

I made these pants for my NYC trip (Blog post coming soon). But I wasn't really comfortable with the way they were fitting. I forgot I wanted high waist so I cut them regular. If you sew, you know I was in the house Like DAMN!!! The fabric is not stretch  Camel Toe is a no go! HAHAHAHA!

Since the temp dropped considerably in the last 24 hours, I remembered this sweater that was gifted to me. When people know that you don't mind hand me downs, you get all kinds of treasures! Plus gold accents are right up my alley! It's long enough to cover the "problem" area!

BURR! It's cold, and I need to get to work! Have a great weekend!

Style Notes: LEGACY

Good Morning and Happy Monday!!!

My Mom moved back in early summer and the treasures I found LAWDD!!! One of them was this fur vest and I almost hit a split! LOL Not for real cause I'm not that Limber! I don't know if your Parents are like mine, But you know it came with a story, the Fur belonged to my Great Grandma!

So GGrandma was styling huh? I'm not surprised. I look through some of my Mom's pics and be like "Ma, where is this jumpsuit now?!" She laughs about her "It" days and tells us girls "Y'all can have it" The only thing is, being in the south, you stick out like a sore thumb wearing pieces like this. But, this past weekend, there was a cold front that left us with 33 degree weather!

Thrifty Thursday: Thrift Flip Blue Jean Dress Edition

Good Morning!!  Happy Thrifty Thursday!!

This Summer I have been completely obsessed with all things blue jean De-stressed blue jean! I thrifted this dress a few months ago, waiting for the time to RIP it to shreds! Circle skirts/dresses, will be around for a while, and the thinking/recreating wheels begin to turn!

It's a size 14 no stretch so it took a lil less than an act of congress to get in it! (I'm not a 14... YET! LOL) So I opened the sides to give my Boobies some room and Took some length off the bottom.

Next I wanted it to be a scoop neck or to fall off or the shoulders a bit so I recreated the neck line, by making it wider.

Then, I used the ole trusty Clorox and let the bleach land where ever it may!

This was  End Result !
Dress and Belt Thrifted
Shoes: Citi Trends
Ankle Wrap: CVS ( I was really clumsy with some shears!)

Me and My Mommie! She was editing our "Usies"!  LOL I can't take her serious!

*Purple kisses*

Hope you had a great week so far!

Alabama International Fashion Week: High concentrated, non-watered down, RAW talent

Happy Monday to ya!!

I had the pleasure of covering Alabama International Fashion Week this weekend! It's the first year for the event and I would say the 1st of many! Below is what I wore....

Of Course it's thrifted! $2.99 find from a local thrift shop here! But the color alone screamed BUY MEEEE!!!

I've been looking for dresses/skirts that have a split or a place where I can add one. This dress had both! The original split wasn't as high so I cut it a bit!

I added my chain belt (yes, I found it) and my new favorite, comfy shoes! I would have worn my leopard print but I wasn't sure how much walking/standing I'd actually be doing, so comfort won!

But enough about me! Let's get to the designers! There were five on Saturday night:

I appreciated everyone's are on the runway, but there were a few that stood out to me! There lines included Vibrant, Original, Everyday wear pieces! I found myself screaming YASSSSSSSS! A good part of the night! So glad to be exposed to more of the talent pool that  Birmingham has to offer! There is nothing like High concentrated, non-watered down, RAW talent! I love!  Below are just a few of my favorite pieces! I'll definitely be inviting these designers to be apart of LIVE.LOVE.STRUT 2015.

Now, seeing that I am a plus size blogger, the only thing that was missing to make the night complete, was PS fashion! Other than that, I enjoyed myself, and look forward to next year! I may even be the Designer to fill that void! =) #isupport!

Have a great work week!

Love you!

Thrifty Thursday: With Pain comes strength

Good Morning!!! Happy Thrifty Thursday!!

I'm so glad I can see things for what they can be vs. what they are presently! Similar to how God views us! This dress was thrifted from a local thrift shop,Jimmie Hale Mission. I loved the print and the colors! I figured with a few touch ups, I'd be able to pull it off! I removed a sleeve, and was going to make it shorter... But I liked it long too!

I originally had planned to pair it with a gold chain belt and some cognac booties that I have! Well, I have no idea where the belt is at this time! So, this was option two! But I KNOW that Brown would have really set it off!! *Sigh*

OOTN: Werking at the Car wash...On the Run tour... NOLA

Let me just say that this concert was the most entertaining concert that I have EVER been too! I mean, I've seen Beyonce' and I've seen Jay-Z, but together... Man, I think it's just a testament to the power of marriage! If' it's coming to a city near you, GET THOSE tickets, you will not be disappointed.

OOTN: DIY-Destroyed Denim, DIY- Lace Crop Top, Leopard print wedges- GoJane Sz-11

I challenged myself this weekend, and can appreciate my growth in style. There is always an extra feeling of power when you create it yourself. In browsing through different pictures, I was inspired when I saw some "car wash" destroyed jeans, a light bulb went off and I had to try that look. The first pair didn't fit right! Why didn't I try the jeans on before I did all the work, I do not know! (Give- away coming soon) 4 pairs of thrifted jeans later... We have a winner!

I knew I wanted a clean look because my jeans are the focal point. I always visioned a white top, but  was so busy sewing for others, that I forgot to find a shirt for myself! I had some scrap fabric from a dress a few weeks back and sewed this top together using another shirt as an outline...

The shoes was a treat from GoJane.com, the site is becoming my new addiction! So far I've bought about 4 pairs and they all fit really good!! They have a pretty decent selection of size 11's!

I had a blast this weekend! Today is my Monday, so my head is back in the sand! Have a great work week!

Oriental feel.... Happy thrifty Thursday!!

Good Morning!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!! I hope your week has been moving right along for you!

Guess who's making time for the things that makes her really happy!! The constant struggle of an organized artist boiiii I tell ya! God Blesses order, so that will forever be the goal!

I love this dress, but the tag said 14... If you know me you know that has never stopped me before! I snatched it! It was a $3.00 buy from a local thrift shop here, the Foundry to be exact. It gave me an oriental feel...
